Your privacy
Privacy Policy
How Vinyl Lettering collects, uses, stores and shares information when you use our website or contact us.
Last updated: 17 October 2026
This policy applies to the website at vinyllettering.com.au and to enquiries, quotes and orders made through our website. Vinyl Lettering (ABN 26 418 122 336) is based in South Australia.
We publish this policy so you can understand our current information-handling practices. The Privacy Act 1988 may apply to some businesses and activities and not others; this policy is intended to describe how we handle information in either case.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the website, we may collect:
- your name, email address, phone number and message when you contact us or request a quote;
- artwork, design files and other files you choose to upload;
- order, delivery, billing and customer-support details processed through our store and checkout;
- information you provide when you communicate with us by email or phone; and
- technical and usage information such as IP address, browser, device, referral and website activity data.
Please avoid including sensitive or unnecessary personal information in an enquiry or uploaded file.
How we use information
We use information to:
- respond to enquiries and prepare quotes;
- make, fulfil, deliver and support orders;
- review artwork and communicate with you about your request;
- operate, secure and improve our website and services;
- measure website performance and advertising referrals where those tools are enabled; and
- meet legal, accounting, fraud-prevention and record-keeping requirements.
We do not currently send promotional email or SMS campaigns. We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share information with
We share information only when needed to operate the business, provide the service you requested, or comply with the law. This may include:
- Shopify and related checkout, payment and order systems;
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) for uploaded files and related storage;
- our private application server, database and the infrastructure provider that hosts it;
- Gmail or Google Workspace for business email;
- Google Analytics and Google Ads for website measurement and advertising attribution;
- Cloudflare Turnstile for bot and abuse prevention;
- production, delivery and other service providers involved in fulfilling an order; and
- government agencies, regulators or professional advisers where disclosure is required or permitted.
Some providers may store or process information outside Australia. Provider locations and services can change, so information may be handled in Australia and other countries where those providers operate.
Cookies and analytics
We may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the website working, remember preferences, understand how the website is used and measure advertising referrals. Google Analytics and Google Ads may collect device, browsing and attribution information when enabled. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
Storage and retention
We keep information for as long as it is reasonably needed to respond to you, complete an order, provide support, manage our records, resolve disputes or meet legal and accounting requirements. We do not currently apply one universal deletion period, so some business records may be kept for an extended or indefinite period where they remain useful for those purposes.
Uploaded artwork is stored in AWS S3. Download links generated for uploaded files normally expire after 30 days. Link expiry limits access through that link; it does not, by itself, delete the underlying file. You can contact us to ask about a particular file or request deletion where appropriate.
Security
We use access controls, private infrastructure and service-provider security features intended to protect information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Access, correction and privacy complaints
You can email us at sales@vinyllettering.com.au to ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, ask about a file, or make a privacy complaint. We may need to confirm your identity before responding. We will review and respond to complaints as soon as reasonably practicable.
If you are not satisfied with our response and the Privacy Act applies to your circumstances, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
